The Catcher in the Rye Released In 1954
The Catcher in the Rye is a novel written by J. D Salinger. The book was released in 1954.
When I first discovered we read this book I laughed. I chuckled since in a previous book that I had checked out before warned me about this fantastic book. I believed to myself” I will never have to read this book. I simply may leave jail, I mean school without having to read this classic. But one day as I was so coincidently reading among my favorite novels on teenage savagery, the part where he alerts us of the instructor cult who is devoted to the wonderful ways of Holden Caufield (the primary character in Catcher) my English instructor breaks the earth shattering news.I couldn’t believe it. The prophecy was being satisfied.
Enough about me lets get to the almighty Catcher in the Rye story. (I think prior to I go on I need to remind you that I have only check out the very first 10 chapters of the book so theres no informing how I may feel towards the end of reading. Holden Caufield in a young troubled rich white kid who has benefits only us middle class folk can dream of.He participates in Pencey preparation and guess what, he doesn’t like it. Mr. Caufield has been to many prep schools before but due to lack of motivation or what not he gets kicked out. Now believe it or not he is expelled from Pencey and is now currently heading towards New York for a terrific escape.
Now I guess your questioning when am I going to spill my guts out on this splendid book that holds the key to surviving this world. And now I am going to inform you. Overall I think this book is rather interesting.Holden is a very quick witted kid. He sees things just like any other bored teenager with money would do, act a fool. The reality that he lies simply for kicks is disturbing and the reality that he states goddamn where doesn’t even belong. And it truly bothers me when he says crumby.
Now a few of the dialouge in this unique actually seem like something out of a Leave It To Beaver episode if Beaver simply occurred to be a bored teenage pathological phony. And simply for kicks, he says sexual relations. You would believe as much as he curses the hell out of everything you think he ‘d be brave enough to say “making love” or “fucking”. Wow, what a great person. When its all stated and done I do concur with something that Holden has mentioned previously. He stated that individuals who went to his school were counterfeit and burglars. I actually do believe that practically everyone I satisfy is bogus in someway.
In reality we are all phony. And we are all thieves. We try to make ourselves believe that we are being ourselves and having individuality however are we really? I know there is more than one occasion that I did things, not regrettable, that I look back now and state wow I was trying to fit. I was trying not to be myself. You may deny it now however all of us have.Once in our lives we have actually robbed somebody of there self esteem simply by stating stupid things like oh she or he’s a lame or what is he or she wearing. I haven’t been liked by ladies my age even if they took one good look at me and state i do not like her.
I never ever understood that. And i myself have robbed somebody too. If anything by reading this very first 10 chapters of Catcher I did discover something, that in this world it is hard to be yourself. We may preach about it however sometimes we slip up. However perhaps thats simply the roadway we need to require to discovering ourselves and who we truly are.
