To Eliminate a Mockingbird– Mla Format
To Eliminate a Mockingbird was written in the 1960’s by Harper Lee. This story occurs in Maycomb County; where Harper Lee was really born and raised. In this book Harper Lee shows discrimination, bias, and bigotry. Looks do not always reflect truth. In the start of the book Boo Radley is explained scary, to illustrate, “Boo had to do with six-and-a-half feet tall, judging by his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any felines he might catch, this is why his hands were bloodstained …” (Lee 13).
Boo Radley is shown as a really scary and sickening person, when most likely he is not like this at all. He would probably be locked away for some sort of mental illness. In a fine mental state an individual would refrain from doing this. In the story there is a home fire and as Scout is seeing your house burn Boo Radley puts a blanket over her to keep her warm. A mean and frightening individual wouldn’t do this. In the book Scout tells, “I looked down and found myself clutching a woolen blanket …” (Lee 71-72). When Scout saw the blanket and understood that it was Boo Radley’s she thought of him as more good and kind.
Not a scary monster. Boo Radley saves Scout and Jem from Bob Ewell when he attacks them. Boo is not a monster as priced quote “I looked from his white hands to his sand-stained khaki trousers; my eyes traveled up his thin frame to his split jeans t-shirt. His face was white as his hands however for the shadow on his sticking out chin, his cheeks were thin to hollowness; his mouth was white; and his eyes were so colorless I thought he was blind, his hair was dead and thin, nearly feathery on the top of his head. “(Lee 270).
In the start of the book he is described as scary mean and sort of violent. Now he is being referred to as a typical individual other than that he is extremely shy. His appearance was not true. Boo Radley was pictured as a beast however is not. What he was referred to as was not true. And now Boo Radley is described as a typical shy individual that keeps to himself. He is not a mean squirrel eating beast. He is kind and rather caring enough to conserve 2 kids’s lives. Boo Radley is a shy and very caring, nice person.
